It’s almost the end of the school year—and that means it’s time for one of our favorite GBI traditions: the End-of-Year Picnics!
If you're new to GBI, you're in for a treat. These picnics are a fun mix of a field day and an end-of-year celebration. Each grade level has its own picnic day with games and lunch. The students have the opportunity to play with friends in other classes and have a ton of fun!
How It Works:
Each classroom hosts a game station, run by Room Parents and volunteers. Check with your Room Parent to see if they need any assistance. Click here to be taken to the list of room parent sign ups.
Lunch is provided by the PTA, along with contributions from our amazing parents.
Important: How to Attend
To attend the picnic, each adult must do the following:
Volunteer in your student’s classroom, help the PTA, or donate an inexpensive item for the picnic.
Complete the mandatory RSVP Form for your grade level after signing up to volunteer or donate.
This form is required for entry. The GBI security team will use the this RSVP form to confirm who is authorized to attend and ensure your badge is ready for check-in. We will be verifying all sign ups to ensure everything is correct and that everyone has signed up to donate/volunteer. If you haven't we will email you the links to sign up for something.
Why are you required to contribute in order to attend?
Think of it like those “donate a canned good for admission” types of events. You get to spend time with your child while also supporting their picnic. These donations help provide lunch for the students, and they also allow us to offer lunch to the parents attending as well.

Security Check-In:
If your ID has not been scanned into the school's security system this school year, we strongly encourage you to take a few minutes before June 8 to have it done.
If your ID is already in the system, your badge will be pre-printed for faster check-in.
If your ID is not in the system, you will need to go to security on the day of the event to be scanned and issued a badge.
Important Reminders:
This event is for GBI students only; siblings are not permitted (not even in carriers).
Pets are not allowed (with the exception of service animals).
Do not park in the bus loop, fire lane, or on school grass. Parking is available in the GBI lot and possibly the senior lot across the street. We will update on the status of the senior lot closer to the picnics.
Do not block in other vehicles. Not all guests will be staying the entire time.
If you've RSVP'd and the school already has your license on file, proceed to the bus loop where a volunteer will give you your badge and you can join your class.
You are welcome to check your student out during or after the picnic if you would like. However, you must check with your child’s teacher before leaving. Just like signing a student out from the school building during the day, staff members need to know when a child is no longer on campus.
